Fight/Flight

Fight /flight response was first describe by Walter Connon in the 1920s. This response is our body's primitive response to prepare us from a percevied attack, harm or threat. The hypothalamus, when stimulated, initates a sequence of nerve cell firing and chemical releases that prepares our body for running or fighting. These chemicals are typically adrenalin, noradrenaline and cortisol. Our respiratory rate increase, and blood is divereted from our digestive area to our muscles and limbs. Our pupils dialte, and our awareness intensifies. Vision, pulse rate and impulses highten. Perception of pain diminishes and our immune system mobilizes.

We become prepared for fight/flight, and we observec, detect and act on the "threat from enemy".In this state we will perceive everthing in our enviroment as a possible threat, and as such by passing our rational mind given way to a more "attack" mind. this "attack mind" will react to even the slightest comment. Our fears are exaggerated, and our thinking can be distored. In a sense we see the world through at filter of threats and possible dangers.
