Course Description:
This is a Firearms Instructor/Advanced ‘End User’ oriented course that teaches S.P.E.A.R. System applications at extreme close quarters where firearms are engaged by incorporating the counter ambush principles and startle/flinch conversion drills from the S.P.E.A.R. System, which utilizes the speed and reliability of the startle-flinch mechanism to convert the sudden attack into a tactical counter. This course applies our evolutionary research on ‘startle-flinch conversion’ to the elements of the gunfight.

Specific training evolutions include:
• Drawing from the startle-flinch
• Off-balance & off-line tactics
• Action & Reaction drills
• Retention & protection issues
• Re-action off holster jams
• Reframes on ‘action vs. reaction’ myths
• Drawing from unorthodox positions
• Close quarter skills while protecting your firearm
• Transitioning from long guns
• Clearing non-combatants and much more…

About The S.P.E.A.R. System:

OBJECTIVE & CAPABILITY
The S.P.E.A.R. System is a modern close quarter combatives & personal
defense program based on science, psychology and human bio-
mechanics. It is not a martial art nor does it replace other martial
systems. We have standardized and simplified close quarter combatives
choices and improved potential effectiveness by basing the close
quarter skills on hardwired reflexes and reactions to violence.

Because S.P.E.A.R. System tactics are built upon hard-wired reflexes,
the system enhances the defenders ability to weather, deflect or
intercept a sudden close quarter “ambush.”
